02 A day on your roof

Sun in the morning. Battery at night.

A clear June day on a 4.8 kWp roof. Solar covers the house first, then fills the battery, then earns from the grid. The battery carries you through the evening.

05 Straight answers

Questions we get on every survey.

Close-up of dark solar cells reflecting a blue sky
Is Devon sunny enough for solar?

Yes. Panels run on daylight, not heat, and the South West gets some of the best light in the UK. A 4.8 kWp south-facing roof in Exeter generates around 3,900 kWh a year. Your survey gives the figure for your own roof and shading.

Do I need planning permission?

Usually not. Most pitched roofs are covered by permitted development. Listed buildings and some conservation areas need consent, and we check that at the roof-check stage before you spend anything.

What is the 0% VAT?

Domestic solar panels and batteries are currently zero-rated for VAT when they are fitted by an installer. Every price on this page already includes it.

What happens if I move house?

The system stays with the house and usually adds to its appeal. We transfer the warranties and monitoring to the new owner at no charge.

Do you use subcontractors?

No. Our own two-person crews survey and fit every system. The electrician who signs off your installation is on our payroll.
