## Pricing and what is included

### What do I get for £99 a month?

You get a website designed from scratch for your business, with every word written for you, and everything needed to keep it running: up to 12 pages, a blog section, tap-to-call on every page, quote and booking-request forms that reach your phone, on-page SEO, Google Business Profile setup, hosting, SSL, monitoring, daily backups and two small changes a month. On the Monthly plan there is a one-off £299 setup fee when you book.

### Do I see the website before it goes live?

Yes. You see your finished design on your phone and approve it before anything goes live, with two full rounds of changes included. Nothing launches until you are happy with it. The Monthly plan runs for 12 months from launch. The £299 setup fee is paid when you book, and your monthly payments start the day the site goes live.

### Should I pick Monthly or Own It?

Pick Monthly if you would rather not find a lump sum: £299 to set up and £99 a month for 12 months, then rolling, and after 24 monthly payments the website is yours and the monthly drops to £49. Pick Own It if you can pay £1,795 once and want the website to be yours from launch, with a lower monthly of £49 and no minimum term. Both are designed from scratch with every word written for you and two changes a month; Own It is the bigger build, with up to 25 pages against 12 and a page for each area you cover.

### What if I do not like the design?

Then you do not pay. You see your finished design on your phone and approve it before anything goes live, with two full rounds of changes included. Nothing launches until you are happy with it. The Monthly plan runs for 12 months from launch. In practice we show you the design early, change what you want changed, and only switch the site on once you are happy with it.

### What counts as a small change?

A change is a small content or layout edit - new opening hours, a swapped photo, a new service added, a reworded paragraph. Redesigns and new pages are quoted separately.

### Do I own my website?

On Monthly, you pay the website off as you go: we own and run it while you are paying, and after 24 monthly payments it becomes yours and the monthly drops to £49 for hosting and care, with no minimum term. Your domain, words and photos are yours from day one. On Own It and Pro, you own the website outright once the build is paid for. Once a website is yours, cancel the monthly service and it is still yours - we hand over everything so you can host it anywhere. Your domain is registered in your name. If you already have one, we connect it; if not, we set one up for you and hand over the login.

### Can I cancel?

The Monthly plan is a 12-month plan, then one month’s notice any time after that. Leave inside the 12 months and the remaining monthly fees for the term are payable. Pro works the same way, on a 12-month plan. Own It has no minimum term and no exit fee. On Monthly, if you stop before 24 monthly payments, the site comes offline when the plan ends and we send you your domain, words and photos so they can go into a new site. After 24 payments, and on Own It and Pro, the website is yours: stop the monthly service and we hand over the complete site so you can move it to any host.

### Are there any hidden costs?

No. The price on your plan is the price: the monthly fee and, on Own It or Pro, the one-off build fee. Your domain name is included in the setup and registered in your name. Anything beyond your plan - extra pages, extra changes, bolt-ons like missed-call text back at £25 a month - is agreed with you before we do it, never added afterwards.

### Why is this so much cheaper than an agency?

Because we have built the process to be fast rather than because we cut corners. Most UK agencies quote thousands of pounds for a small business website, much of which pays for account managers, discovery workshops and offices. We have none of those, we design with modern tools that let one person do in days what used to take weeks, and we make our money over years of hosting rather than in one big invoice.

### When do I start paying?

The setup fee is paid when you book, and it starts the design. Monthly fees are collected by Direct Debit, covered by the Direct Debit Guarantee, from the day your site goes live. On Own It, the build fee is split in two halves - when you book and at launch.

### What are bolt-ons?

Bolt-ons are optional monthly extras that win you more jobs: missed-call text back (£25), a review booster (£15), Google Business Profile management (£29), a local SEO pack (£49) and business email (£5 per mailbox). Add or remove any of them whenever you like.

## How it works

### How long does it take to build?

We aim to have you live within 3 working days of your 15-minute call and your approval of the design. The main variable is content - how quickly you can get us your text, photographs and details. Larger builds take longer, and we will give you a realistic date before we start rather than an optimistic one.

### Do you only build websites for the businesses you list?

No. We build for any kind of business, at any size - a sole trader, a practice with three partners, a multi-site group or a national brand. The business types on this site are the ones we have written guides for, not a list of who we will work with. If yours is not there, get in touch and we will build for it in the same way.

### Is it a template?

No. Every site is designed from scratch for your business. We do not use WordPress themes, page builders or template marketplaces, which is why two Nerdsharks sites in the same line of work do not look like each other.

### What do you need from me?

Your business details, a sense of what you want the site to achieve, any photographs you have, and your text if you have it. You do not need any text: we write every word for you after a 15-minute call. Most of the work is ours; the part that usually slows a project down is waiting for content.

### Where are you based?

We are based in Exeter, Devon, and work with businesses across the UK. Everything is done remotely - email, phone and video calls - which is part of why the price is what it is. We do not claim to have an office in every town we build websites for.

### Do you set up business email?

We can point your email at whichever provider you want to use - usually Google Workspace or Microsoft 365 - and make sure it keeps working when the website moves. Our business email bolt-on (£5 a month per mailbox) sets up a professional address on your own domain and puts it on your phone for you.

### Can I edit the site myself?

You can, but most of our customers would rather not, which is why two small changes a month are included - just send a WhatsApp. If you want to be able to edit content yourself we can build that in - tell us at the start, because it changes how the site is put together.

## Hosting, SEO and redesigns

### Is SEO included?

The technical foundations are included in every build: page titles, meta descriptions, heading structure, structured data, a sitemap, fast loading and indexing setup. That is the baseline every website should have. Ongoing SEO campaigns - content programmes, link building, monthly reporting - are separate work and quoted separately.

### Can I keep my existing content?

Yes. We migrate whatever is worth keeping and rewrite or drop the rest. Before quoting, we look at what your current site actually ranks for and gets traffic from, so the pages that are quietly working are preserved rather than thrown away.

### Can you guarantee I will rank first on Google?

No, and neither can anyone else. Nobody controls Google’s rankings, and any agency guaranteeing a position is either misleading you or planning to do something that will eventually get your site penalised. What we can do is make sure the technical foundations are right and that nothing on your site is holding you back.

### Will a redesign lose my Google rankings?

Not if the migration is done properly. The usual cause of lost rankings is that every URL changes and nothing redirects. We map every existing URL to its new home and set up permanent redirects, then monitor search visibility through the change.

### How long does SEO take to work?

A new site typically starts appearing in search within a few days to a few weeks for its own business name, and takes several months to compete for genuinely competitive local terms. Anyone promising first-page results in thirty days is describing something that does not happen.

## Working with us from anywhere

### Do you actually work with businesses in this area?

Yes. We are based in Exeter and build websites for businesses right across the UK. The work is done remotely, by phone, WhatsApp and video call, and we will not pretend to have an office down the road from you.

### Does it matter that you are not local to me?

For building and looking after a website, no. Everything is done by phone, WhatsApp and video call, and you approve the design on your own phone before anything goes live. What does matter is local search visibility, and that depends on the site and your Google Business Profile being set up for your area, not on where we sit.

### How do I compete with bigger businesses in my area locally?

By being specific. A large regional firm usually has one page that covers everywhere; you can have a page about what you do in your town, naming the areas you cover and the jobs you do. Add a fast site and a fully completed Google Business Profile, and you are giving local searchers a clearer answer than a page written for the whole region.
