# One friendly reminder for customers who started but did not finish

> If someone starts your quote form, gives their email and agrees to a reminder but does not finish, they get one friendly email inviting them back. Can be added to any plan; standard on Pro.

An abandoned enquiry is one a customer started and never sent: they got halfway through your quote form, then the kettle boiled or the phone rang. Abandoned enquiry recovery gives those people one gentle nudge, and only if they have agreed to it. Early in a longer form, the customer gives their email address, and there is a clear, unticked box asking whether they are happy for you to send one reminder if they do not finish. If they tick it and then leave, the site saves their progress and later sends a single friendly email with a link back to where they left off. If they do not tick it, nothing is sent, and their partial answers are deleted after a short period. It is built to follow UK GDPR and the rules on marketing emails, and it is covered in your privacy policy. Abandoned enquiry recovery can be added to any plan (Monthly, Own It or Pro), priced on your call, and comes as standard on Pro.

## How it works

1. **Consent is asked for clearly** - On longer forms, such as a quote request or our quote calculator, customers are asked for their email early on, with an unticked box to agree to one reminder if they do not finish.
2. **Progress is saved** - If they have agreed and then leave the form, their answers so far are saved securely so they do not have to start again.
3. **One reminder is sent** - After a set time, usually a few hours or the next day, they get one friendly email in your name with a link that takes them straight back to finish.
4. **Data is not kept longer than needed** - If they finish, it becomes a normal enquiry. If they do not, the partial answers are deleted after a short period, and nobody who did not consent is ever emailed.

## Why it matters

- **Recover enquiries you would lose** - People who start a quote form were interested. A single reminder brings some of them back to finish, where you would otherwise never have known they existed.
- **Respectful by design** - One email, only with consent, and easy to ignore. It feels helpful to the customer rather than pushy, which protects your reputation.
- **On the right side of the rules** - Clear consent, a single message and prompt deletion are built to follow UK GDPR and the rules on marketing emails, so you are not left exposed.

## Questions

### Is it legal to email someone who did not finish a form?

Only with their consent, which is why we ask for it clearly with an unticked box before any reminder is sent. People who do not agree are never emailed, and their partial answers are deleted after a short period.

### How many reminder emails do customers get?

One. If they come back and finish, great; if not, we do not send any more. We would rather lose a lead than annoy someone who has decided not to go ahead.

### Does it work on every form on my site?

It is designed for longer forms, such as quote requests and our instant quote calculator, where people are most likely to be interrupted. Short contact forms are quick enough that it is rarely needed.

### Which plans can have abandoned enquiry recovery?

Any plan. Abandoned enquiry recovery can be added to Monthly, Own It or Pro, priced on your call, and comes as standard on Pro.
