A backup is a complete copy of your website - pages, photos, enquiries, reviews - saved somewhere else so it can be put back if anything goes wrong. On every Nerdsharks plan your site is backed up automatically every day and the copies are stored away from the live site. If a change goes wrong, a photo gets deleted or something worse happens, we restore it to any recent day. You never have to click a button, buy a plugin or remember anything.

## How it works

1. **A copy every day** - Each day an automatic job takes a full copy of your site content and your enquiry records, without slowing the site down for visitors.
2. **Stored somewhere else** - The copies are kept separately from the live site, so a problem with one does not take out the other. That is the whole point of a backup.
3. **Restored on request** - Send us a WhatsApp saying what went wrong and roughly when it was last right. We restore that day and confirm when it is back.

## Why it matters

- **Mistakes are not permanent** - Deleted the wrong photo or overwrote your prices page in the editor? We put it back as it was. You can use the editor without worrying about breaking things.

### If I leave Nerdsharks, do I get a copy of my site?

Yes, if you leave we send you your content, photos and enquiry records. Your domain is registered in your name, and your content is yours.
