A deposit is the simplest fix for no-shows and time-wasters: a customer who has paid something upfront nearly always turns up, or tells you in good time if they cannot. Your website can take card payments, on any plan, through a regulated payment provider, so customers can pay a deposit when they book, or pay in full for a fixed-price service like an MOT, a groom or a gift voucher. You decide which services need a deposit and how much. The money goes to your own account, minus the provider’s standard processing fee, and we take no cut. Card payments can be added to Monthly or Own It, priced on your call, and come as standard on Pro.

## How it works

1. **You set the rules** - Tell us which services need a deposit, whether it is a fixed amount or a share of the price, and what your cancellation terms are.
2. **Customers pay at checkout** - When they book or order, customers pay by card on a secure checkout. Card details are handled by the payment provider, never stored on your site.
3. **Receipts for both of you** - The customer gets a confirmation and receipt by email. You get an alert and the payment shows against the booking in your CRM.
4. **Paid into your account** - The payment provider pays the money into your business bank account on its normal schedule, minus its standard processing fee.

## Why it matters

- **Fewer no-shows** - An empty slot you kept free is money gone. Asking for a deposit makes people far more likely to turn up or cancel properly.
- **Less chasing for payment** - When fixed-price work is paid for upfront, there is no awkward follow-up text asking whether the customer has transferred it yet.
- **No commission from us** - We do not take a percentage of your payments. The only fee per transaction is the payment provider’s, which we explain before you launch.
