Getting a customer to sign your quote or terms often means printing, posting, scanning or chasing a photo of a signed page. Digital contracts let the customer read the document on your website and sign it on their phone or computer. As soon as they sign, a signed PDF is emailed to both of you and your site keeps a record of who signed, when and from which email address. For a builder that means a signed quote before ordering materials; for a wedding photographer it means a signed booking contract before the date is held. It is a step on from quotes and invoices, which are about sending prices and taking payment. Digital contracts and e-signatures can be added to any plan, priced on your call, and come as standard on Pro.

## How it works

1. **You set up your documents** - We turn your quote layout, terms and conditions or contract into templates on your site, with spaces for the customer’s details, the price and the date.
2. **The customer gets a signing link** - You send the document from your site and the customer receives an email with a private link. They read it in full before they can sign.
3. **They sign on any device** - The customer types or draws their signature and confirms. There is nothing to download or print, and it works on a phone as well as a laptop.
4. **Both sides get a signed copy** - A signed PDF is emailed to you and the customer straight away, and a record of the signing, including the time and email address used, is kept on your site.

## Why it matters

- **Agreement before you commit** - You can wait for a signature before ordering materials, holding a date or turning other work away, which protects you if a customer changes their mind.
- **Faster yes from customers** - Signing takes a minute on a phone, so customers are less likely to put it off until they find a printer. Work can be booked in sooner.
- **A clear record if questions come up** - If there is a disagreement later about what was agreed, you have the signed document and a note of when it was signed, all in one place.

## Questions

### Are electronic signatures legally valid?

In the UK, electronic signatures are generally accepted for everyday business agreements such as quotes, terms and service contracts. Some documents, such as deeds or anything needing a witness, have extra rules, so check with a solicitor if you are unsure.

### Which plan includes e-signatures?

Any plan. Digital contracts and e-signatures can be added to Monthly or Own It, priced on your call, and come as standard on Pro. We confirm the price before building anything.

### Can I use my existing terms and conditions?

Yes. Send us your current terms, quote layout or contract and we set them up as templates. We do not write legal terms for you, so have a solicitor check them if they have never been reviewed.

### Can the customer pay a deposit when they sign?

Yes, if card payments and deposits are on your site. The customer can sign and then pay the deposit straight away, through a regulated payment provider. We take no commission.
