Your site has its own review system built in. After a job you send the customer a link; they write a review and give a star rating; you approve it and it appears on your website. At the end, they are also invited to leave the same review on Google, where it helps you show up in the map results. Approving is there to catch spam and anything abusive, not to bury honest criticism. Since April 2025 the Digital Markets, Competition and Consumers Act 2024 has made fake reviews, and hiding incentivised ones, unlawful in the UK, so the whole system is designed around real reviews from real customers.

## How it works

1. **Send your customer a link** - After the job, send your review link by WhatsApp, text or email. We give you the link and a short friendly message to copy.
2. **They leave a review** - The customer picks a star rating and writes a few lines on a simple page that works well on a phone. No account needed.
3. **You approve it** - The review lands in your dashboard. Approve it and it goes live on your site, with the date and the customer’s first name.
4. **A nudge towards Google** - Once they have submitted, the customer is shown a one-tap link to leave a review on your Google Business Profile as well.

## Why it matters

- **Proof on your own site** - Visitors who have never heard of you want to know other people trusted you. Reviews on your own pages answer that without them leaving to search.
- **More Google reviews** - Google says reviews and ratings play a part in local results. The nudge makes it easy for a happy customer to leave one while they are in the mood.
- **Honest by design** - The system only collects reviews from customers you send it to, and approving is for filtering spam and abuse, keeping you on the right side of the law.

## Questions

### Can I hide bad reviews on my website?

You should not hide genuine negative reviews just because they are negative. UK consumer law treats selectively suppressing honest reviews in a way that misleads customers as a problem, and a reply to fair criticism often builds more trust than a wall of five stars. Approving is for removing spam, abuse and reviews that are not from real customers.

### Is it legal to offer a discount for a review?

Offering a reward for reviews is risky and often not allowed. Under the Digital Markets, Competition and Consumers Act 2024, fake reviews and incentivised reviews that are not clearly disclosed are banned, and Google’s own policies forbid incentivised reviews. The safe approach is simply asking every customer for honest feedback.

### Do reviews on my website help me on Google?

Reviews on your own site help persuade the people who visit it, and the built-in nudge asks customers to leave a Google review too, which is where reviews matter most for local search. We never copy reviews onto Google on anyone’s behalf.

### Is this the same as the Review booster bolt-on?

No, the built-in review system is included on every plan and works from a link you send. The Review booster bolt-on, at £15 a month, sends the review request by text automatically after each job so you do not have to remember.
