# Maren Interiors - website by Nerdsharks

> A two-person interior design studio in Exeter that designs whole rooms and whole houses across Devon: period homes, barn conversions and new-build extensions that need to feel lived in. Most enquiries come from Instagram, then stall on a website that looks like a template. The site has to feel like walking into one of their rooms, show finished projects properly and be clear about fees before anyone picks up the phone. Designed and built by Nerdsharks.

## Design rationale

Interior design is bought on feeling first and fees second, so the page is built like a magazine feature that you walk through. The hero opens as a narrow slit of a sunlit dining room and widens to full bleed as you scroll, the way a door opens onto a room. Headlines rise out of masks line by line, in Libre Caslon Display, a high-contrast serif with the confidence of a print masthead, set against Epilogue for calm, readable body text. Projects are pinned and travel sideways, so each room gets the full width of the screen and a caption like a gallery label. The palette is taken from the photography rather than laid over it: bone walls, walnut, a muted olive and near-black ink. Fees are written out in plain pounds, because designers who hide them lose the enquiries that were already a good fit.

## Features

- **The room reveal** - The hero photo opens from a slit to full bleed as you scroll, so the first thing a visitor does is step into a finished room rather than read about one.
- **Pinned sideways project gallery** - Each project gets the whole width of the screen and a gallery-style caption with the brief, the house and the budget band, which is what a prospective client is actually comparing.
- **Fees in plain pounds** - Design fees, per-room prices and the whole-house percentage are on the page, which filters out poor-fit enquiries and reassures the good ones before the first call.
- **Four-stage process with what you receive** - Each stage says what lands on your table: a mood board, a measured plan, a sourcing schedule. People buy the deliverables, not the adjectives.
- **Works without the animation** - In browsers without scroll-driven animation the hero settles into a framed window and the projects become a swipeable row, so nothing looks broken.
