## About Ayr

Ayr is the county town of Ayrshire, with a long sandy beach, a racecourse and Burns country at Alloway on its southern edge. It serves a wide area of South Ayrshire for shopping, legal and medical services, and draws day-trippers from Glasgow in summer. Housing ranges from grand Victorian villas near the seafront to large council-built estates on the east side. Trades here benefit from naming the specific parts of town they cover, while hospitality businesses need current hours for race days and the summer crowd.

## Nearby

Prestwick (3 miles) and Troon (6 miles) are the nearest in the same council area. A longer drive takes in Irvine (11 miles), Kilmarnock (12 miles), Saltcoats (14 miles) and Kilwinning (14 miles). Naming the towns you actually cover tells people straight away whether you will come to them.

We are based in Exeter and work with Ayr businesses remotely.

## Questions

### Do you actually work with businesses in this area?

Yes. We are based in Exeter and build websites for businesses right across the UK. The work is done remotely, by phone, WhatsApp and video call, and we will not pretend to have an office down the road from you.

### Does it matter that you are not local to me?

For building and looking after a website, no. Everything is done by phone, WhatsApp and video call, and you approve the design on your own phone before anything goes live. What does matter is local search visibility, and that depends on the site and your Google Business Profile being set up for your area, not on where we sit.

### How do I compete with bigger businesses in my area locally?

By being specific. A large regional firm usually has one page that covers everywhere; you can have a page about what you do in your town, naming the areas you cover and the jobs you do. Add a fast site and a fully completed Google Business Profile, and you are giving local searchers a clearer answer than a page written for the whole region.
