## About Birmingham

Birmingham combines a large city-centre professional and hospitality economy with an enormous surrounding residential base across the wider West Midlands. For trades and home services this means genuine volume, and correspondingly heavy competition on the obvious search terms. The businesses doing well tend to be specific about which parts of the city they cover rather than claiming the whole of it, because a customer in Sutton Coldfield and one in Selly Oak are looking for quite different things.

## Nearby

The nearest town in the same council area is Royal Sutton Coldfield (7 miles). Across the boundary into the next council area, Smethwick (3 miles), West Bromwich (5 miles), Oldbury (5 miles) and Rowley Regis (6 miles) are also close. If you cover some of these and not others, the site should name the ones you do.

We are based in Exeter and work with Birmingham businesses remotely.

## Questions

### Do you actually work with businesses in this area?

Yes. We are based in Exeter and build websites for businesses right across the UK. The work is done remotely, by phone, WhatsApp and video call, and we will not pretend to have an office down the road from you.

### Does it matter that you are not local to me?

For building and looking after a website, no. Everything is done by phone, WhatsApp and video call, and you approve the design on your own phone before anything goes live. What does matter is local search visibility, and that depends on the site and your Google Business Profile being set up for your area, not on where we sit.

### How do I compete with bigger businesses in my area locally?

By being specific. A large regional firm usually has one page that covers everywhere; you can have a page about what you do in your town, naming the areas you cover and the jobs you do. Add a fast site and a fully completed Google Business Profile, and you are giving local searchers a clearer answer than a page written for the whole region.
