## About Buckfastleigh

Buckfastleigh is a small former wool town on the southern edge of Dartmoor, beside the A38, with Buckfast Abbey and the South Devon Railway drawing visitors all year. The town itself is modest and workaday, with terraced houses and small estates, while the countryside around it is dotted with moorland hamlets. Visitor businesses need current hours and parking information, while trades should list the surrounding villages and be clear about travel. Customers value someone local who knows the old buildings of the area.

## Nearby

The nearest towns in the same council area are Ashburton (3 miles), Newton Abbot (8 miles), Bovey Tracey (9 miles) and Kingsteignton (9 miles). Elsewhere in Devon, Totnes (5 miles) and Ivybridge (9 miles) are within reach. Across the boundary into the next council area, Paignton (10 miles) is also close. A longer drive takes in Torquay (11 miles). If you cover some of these and not others, the site should name the ones you do.

We are based in Exeter and work with Buckfastleigh businesses remotely.

## Questions

### Do you actually work with businesses in this area?

Yes. We are based in Exeter and build websites for businesses right across the UK. The work is done remotely, by phone, WhatsApp and video call, and we will not pretend to have an office down the road from you.

### Does it matter that you are not local to me?

For building and looking after a website, no. Everything is done by phone, WhatsApp and video call, and you approve the design on your own phone before anything goes live. What does matter is local search visibility, and that depends on the site and your Google Business Profile being set up for your area, not on where we sit.

### How do I compete with bigger businesses in my area locally?

By being specific. A large regional firm usually has one page that covers everywhere; you can have a page about what you do in your town, naming the areas you cover and the jobs you do. Add a fast site and a fully completed Google Business Profile, and you are giving local searchers a clearer answer than a page written for the whole region.
