## About Dunoon

Dunoon is the main town on the Cowal peninsula, reached by ferry across the Clyde from Gourock, and it was once a busy Victorian holiday resort. The Cowal Highland Gathering still fills it each summer. Because many tradespeople and suppliers are across the water, being clearly based on Cowal is a genuine selling point. Customers are spread along the shore to Kirn, Hunters Quay and Innellan, so naming those places and being honest about travel distances matters.

## Nearby

The nearest towns in the same council area are Helensburgh (8 miles) and Rothesay (10 miles). Across the boundary into the next council area, Greenock (7 miles) is also close. A longer drive takes in Largs (11 miles), Dumbarton (14 miles), Johnstone (18 miles) and Erskine (18 miles). If you cover some of these and not others, the site should name the ones you do.

We are based in Exeter and work with Dunoon businesses remotely.

## Questions

### Do you actually work with businesses in this area?

Yes. We are based in Exeter and build websites for businesses right across the UK. The work is done remotely, by phone, WhatsApp and video call, and we will not pretend to have an office down the road from you.

### Does it matter that you are not local to me?

For building and looking after a website, no. Everything is done by phone, WhatsApp and video call, and you approve the design on your own phone before anything goes live. What does matter is local search visibility, and that depends on the site and your Google Business Profile being set up for your area, not on where we sit.

### How do I compete with bigger businesses in my area locally?

By being specific. A large regional firm usually has one page that covers everywhere; you can have a page about what you do in your town, naming the areas you cover and the jobs you do. Add a fast site and a fully completed Google Business Profile, and you are giving local searchers a clearer answer than a page written for the whole region.
