## About Earley

Earley is a large suburban town on the south-east side of Reading, taking in most of the University of Reading's Whiteknights campus and the big private estates of Lower Earley. That creates two distinct markets: landlords and students near the university, and owner-occupier families who commute into Reading, Thames Valley Park or London. Both groups search online first. Home-services firms do well by stating plainly that they cover Earley, Woodley and Shinfield, rather than hiding behind "Reading and surrounding areas".

## Nearby

Inside Wokingham, the closest places are Woodley (2 miles) and Wokingham (5 miles). Just over the council boundary, Reading (2 miles), Bracknell (8 miles), Yateley (8 miles) and Sandhurst (8 miles) are close by. Further out, Camberley (11 miles) and Tadley (11 miles) are within commuting distance. A list of the places you really serve is more useful to a customer than “and surrounding areas”.

We are based in Exeter and work with Earley businesses remotely.

## Questions

### Do you actually work with businesses in this area?

Yes. We are based in Exeter and build websites for businesses right across the UK. The work is done remotely, by phone, WhatsApp and video call, and we will not pretend to have an office down the road from you.

### Does it matter that you are not local to me?

For building and looking after a website, no. Everything is done by phone, WhatsApp and video call, and you approve the design on your own phone before anything goes live. What does matter is local search visibility, and that depends on the site and your Google Business Profile being set up for your area, not on where we sit.

### How do I compete with bigger businesses in my area locally?

By being specific. A large regional firm usually has one page that covers everywhere; you can have a page about what you do in your town, naming the areas you cover and the jobs you do. Add a fast site and a fully completed Google Business Profile, and you are giving local searchers a clearer answer than a page written for the whole region.
