## About Edinburgh

Edinburgh is a capital with a heavy financial, legal and public-sector economy, a huge visitor trade and a festival month in August that changes how the whole city runs. Georgian New Town flats and Old Town tenements bring listed-building and shared-stair work that general trades are not always set up for. Hospitality businesses need hours and booking details kept current through the peaks, and trades do better naming the neighbourhoods they cover, since Leith and Morningside are quite different markets.

## Nearby

Just over the council boundary, Musselburgh (5 miles), Dalkeith (6 miles), Bonnyrigg (6 miles) and Penicuik (9 miles) are close by. Further out, Kirkcaldy (11 miles), Broxburn (11 miles), Cowdenbeath (12 miles) and Dunfermline (13 miles) are within commuting distance. A list of the places you really serve is more useful to a customer than “and surrounding areas”.

We are based in Exeter and work with Edinburgh businesses remotely.

## Questions

### Do you actually work with businesses in this area?

Yes. We are based in Exeter and build websites for businesses right across the UK. The work is done remotely, by phone, WhatsApp and video call, and we will not pretend to have an office down the road from you.

### Does it matter that you are not local to me?

For building and looking after a website, no. Everything is done by phone, WhatsApp and video call, and you approve the design on your own phone before anything goes live. What does matter is local search visibility, and that depends on the site and your Google Business Profile being set up for your area, not on where we sit.

### How do I compete with bigger businesses in my area locally?

By being specific. A large regional firm usually has one page that covers everywhere; you can have a page about what you do in your town, naming the areas you cover and the jobs you do. Add a fast site and a fully completed Google Business Profile, and you are giving local searchers a clearer answer than a page written for the whole region.
