## About Hatfield

Hatfield grew around the de Havilland aircraft works and is now dominated by the University of Hertfordshire, which occupies much of the former airfield, and by Hatfield House. That gives it a large student population and a busy rental market alongside family homes. Landlords and letting agents are a significant customer group for trades and cleaners. A site that names Old Hatfield, the Galleria area and nearby villages like Brookmans Park reaches the wider market.

## Nearby

Welwyn Garden City (3 miles) is the nearest in the same council area. Elsewhere in Hertfordshire, St Albans (5 miles), Hertford (7 miles), Harpenden (7 miles) and Ware (9 miles) are within reach. Across the boundary into the next council area, Chipping Barnet (8 miles) is also close. Naming the towns you actually cover tells people straight away whether you will come to them.

We are based in Exeter and work with Hatfield businesses remotely.

## Questions

### Do you actually work with businesses in this area?

Yes. We are based in Exeter and build websites for businesses right across the UK. The work is done remotely, by phone, WhatsApp and video call, and we will not pretend to have an office down the road from you.

### Does it matter that you are not local to me?

For building and looking after a website, no. Everything is done by phone, WhatsApp and video call, and you approve the design on your own phone before anything goes live. What does matter is local search visibility, and that depends on the site and your Google Business Profile being set up for your area, not on where we sit.

### How do I compete with bigger businesses in my area locally?

By being specific. A large regional firm usually has one page that covers everywhere; you can have a page about what you do in your town, naming the areas you cover and the jobs you do. Add a fast site and a fully completed Google Business Profile, and you are giving local searchers a clearer answer than a page written for the whole region.
