## About Lancaster

Lancaster is a historic city with a castle, a large university on its southern edge and a location between the Lake District and the Forest of Bowland. Students and staff create a steady rental and hospitality market, while the surrounding countryside adds rural work. Morecambe sits right alongside, and many businesses serve both, so saying you cover Lancaster and Morecambe, and naming the villages you reach, maps to how locals actually search.

## Nearby

Morecambe (3 miles) and Carnforth (6 miles) are the nearest in the same council area. Elsewhere in Lancashire, Garstang (10 miles) and Fleetwood (13 miles) are within reach. A longer drive takes in Grange-over-Sands (11 miles), Kirkby Lonsdale (13 miles), Ulverston (15 miles) and Dalton-in-Furness (17 miles). Naming the towns you actually cover tells people straight away whether you will come to them.

We are based in Exeter and work with Lancaster businesses remotely.

## Questions

### Do you actually work with businesses in this area?

Yes. We are based in Exeter and build websites for businesses right across the UK. The work is done remotely, by phone, WhatsApp and video call, and we will not pretend to have an office down the road from you.

### Does it matter that you are not local to me?

For building and looking after a website, no. Everything is done by phone, WhatsApp and video call, and you approve the design on your own phone before anything goes live. What does matter is local search visibility, and that depends on the site and your Google Business Profile being set up for your area, not on where we sit.

### How do I compete with bigger businesses in my area locally?

By being specific. A large regional firm usually has one page that covers everywhere; you can have a page about what you do in your town, naming the areas you cover and the jobs you do. Add a fast site and a fully completed Google Business Profile, and you are giving local searchers a clearer answer than a page written for the whole region.
