## About Sandown

Sandown is a Victorian seaside resort on the Isle of Wight's east coast, with a long sandy bay, a pier and the Dinosaur Isle museum. Tourism shapes the economy, with hotels, holiday flats and seasonal jobs, while the housing ranges from grand old villas to smaller terraces. Trades serve a mix of residents and holiday-let owners, so reliability and quick communication count, and naming Lake, Yaverland and Brading reflects the real catchment.

## Nearby

Inside Isle of Wight, the closest places are Brading (2 miles), Shanklin (2 miles), Ventnor (5 miles) and Ryde (5 miles). Just over the council boundary, Southsea (10 miles) and Gosport (10 miles) are close by. A list of the places you really serve is more useful to a customer than “and surrounding areas”.

We are based in Exeter and work with Sandown businesses remotely.

## Questions

### Do you actually work with businesses in this area?

Yes. We are based in Exeter and build websites for businesses right across the UK. The work is done remotely, by phone, WhatsApp and video call, and we will not pretend to have an office down the road from you.

### Does it matter that you are not local to me?

For building and looking after a website, no. Everything is done by phone, WhatsApp and video call, and you approve the design on your own phone before anything goes live. What does matter is local search visibility, and that depends on the site and your Google Business Profile being set up for your area, not on where we sit.

### How do I compete with bigger businesses in my area locally?

By being specific. A large regional firm usually has one page that covers everywhere; you can have a page about what you do in your town, naming the areas you cover and the jobs you do. Add a fast site and a fully completed Google Business Profile, and you are giving local searchers a clearer answer than a page written for the whole region.
