## About Southwell

Southwell is a small minster town in Nottinghamshire, dominated by its Norman minster and known as the birthplace of the Bramley apple, with a racecourse at nearby Rolleston. Its centre is full of listed buildings and its residents are largely well-off, often retired or commuting to Nottingham. Conservation-area work, careful craftsmanship and trust count for more than speed, so trades should show experience with period properties and give real names, accreditations and local references.

## Nearby

The nearest town in the same council area is Newark-on-Trent (6 miles). Elsewhere in Nottinghamshire, Bingham (9 miles), Mansfield (11 miles), Cotgrave (12 miles) and Kirkby-in-Ashfield (12 miles) are within reach. A longer drive takes in Nottingham (12 miles) and Bulwell (12 miles). If you cover some of these and not others, the site should name the ones you do.

We are based in Exeter and work with Southwell businesses remotely.

## Questions

### Do you actually work with businesses in this area?

Yes. We are based in Exeter and build websites for businesses right across the UK. The work is done remotely, by phone, WhatsApp and video call, and we will not pretend to have an office down the road from you.

### Does it matter that you are not local to me?

For building and looking after a website, no. Everything is done by phone, WhatsApp and video call, and you approve the design on your own phone before anything goes live. What does matter is local search visibility, and that depends on the site and your Google Business Profile being set up for your area, not on where we sit.

### How do I compete with bigger businesses in my area locally?

By being specific. A large regional firm usually has one page that covers everywhere; you can have a page about what you do in your town, naming the areas you cover and the jobs you do. Add a fast site and a fully completed Google Business Profile, and you are giving local searchers a clearer answer than a page written for the whole region.
