## About Yarmouth

Yarmouth is a small harbour town on the Isle of Wight's west coast, where the Wightlink ferry from Lymington docks beside a Tudor castle and a marina full of visiting yachts. In summer it fills with sailors and day visitors; out of season the customer base shrinks to residents of West Wight and owners of second homes who need work done while they are away. Businesses here need current seasonal hours for visitors, and trades benefit from making clear they cover Freshwater and Totland and can handle jobs for absent owners.

## Nearby

The nearest towns in the same council area are Cowes (10 miles), East Cowes (10 miles) and Ryde (15 miles). Across the boundary into the next council area, Lymington (4 miles) and New Milton (8 miles) are also close. A longer drive takes in Christchurch (13 miles), Southampton (14 miles) and Totton (15 miles). If you cover some of these and not others, the site should name the ones you do.

We are based in Exeter and work with Yarmouth businesses remotely.

## Questions

### Do you actually work with businesses in this area?

Yes. We are based in Exeter and build websites for businesses right across the UK. The work is done remotely, by phone, WhatsApp and video call, and we will not pretend to have an office down the road from you.

### Does it matter that you are not local to me?

For building and looking after a website, no. Everything is done by phone, WhatsApp and video call, and you approve the design on your own phone before anything goes live. What does matter is local search visibility, and that depends on the site and your Google Business Profile being set up for your area, not on where we sit.

### How do I compete with bigger businesses in my area locally?

By being specific. A large regional firm usually has one page that covers everywhere; you can have a page about what you do in your town, naming the areas you cover and the jobs you do. Add a fast site and a fully completed Google Business Profile, and you are giving local searchers a clearer answer than a page written for the whole region.
