Why the photos are late

Most gardens are photographed on handover day, all bare soil and small plants. We go back once they have grown in, because planting is judged in year three.

Gardens

Photographed a season after we left.

Each garden carries two dates: the month we finished building it, and the month it was photographed. The gap is the point.

How we design

Slow at the start, so it lasts.

  1. Site visit first

An hour in your garden, free, before anything is drawn or quoted.

  2. Planting for year three

We plant for what it becomes, not what it looks like on handover day.

  3. Built by the people who drew it

No subcontracting. The designer is on site during the build.

Maintenance

Example review

“They told us the borders would look thin the first summer and brilliant by the third. They were right on both counts, and they came back to photograph it.”
