Nerdsharks does not set any cookies, and we use no advertising, social media or third-party tracking of any kind. We use a small amount of your browser’s local storage to run our own analytics and to remember your progress in our free tools. Everything is listed below, and you can switch analytics off with one click.
This policy explains what we store on your device when you visit nerdsharks.com, and why. It should be read alongside our privacy policy, which explains how we handle any personal data this produces.
Cookies and similar technologies
Cookies are small files a website places on your device. The same rules - under the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations 2003 (PECR) - apply to similar technologies such as your browser’s local storage and session storage, so this policy covers all of them. In this policy we call them “storage”.
What we store
Analytics
Our analytics is first-party: it runs on our own website and sends data only to us, never to an advertising network. It helps us understand which pages are useful, where visitors get stuck and whether the site is working properly.

The same analytics also records how pages are used (session recording). Anything typed into a form is masked in your browser before it is sent, and the chat panel is never recorded.

These are only created when you use the feature, and they are strictly necessary to provide it. Nothing in them is sent to us.
What we do not use
- Advertising, retargeting or remarketing cookies
- Third-party analytics that profile you across websites
- Social media pixels or embedded trackers
- Fingerprinting or any attempt to identify you by name
Your choices
Switch off analytics. Visit this opt-out link and our analytics and session recording will stop on this browser. To switch them back on, use this opt-in link. Your choice is stored on this device and browser only, so repeat it on any other devices you use.
Clear or block storage. You can delete or block local storage and cookies for any website in your browser settings. Our website works fully without them - the only effect is that the free tools will not remember your progress.
Browser privacy settings. Private or incognito windows discard everything when they are closed.
Changes to this policy
If we change what we store, we will update this policy and the effective date at the top of the page before the change goes live.
