Websites for electricians

Websites for electricians that win the work.

Websites for electrical contractors that separate the domestic call-outs from the commercial contracts, because those two customers want completely different things. From £99 a month, live in 3 working days.

The Voltway Electrical website on a phone
Your customers

How people actually choose a electrician.

Electricians serve two markets that barely overlap. The householder with a tripping consumer unit searches on a phone and wants a number and a registration body logo. The landlord, letting agent or facilities manager needs EICRs and periodic testing, buys on paperwork and turnaround, and is often comparing on a laptop against two other firms. Commercial buyers will read a page properly; domestic ones will not read at all. Trying to write one homepage that speaks to both usually produces a homepage that speaks to neither.

When demand peaks. Landlord certificate renewals cluster around tenancy cycles. EV charger enquiries track new car deliveries.

The problem

What most electricians websites get wrong.

The recurring mistake is presenting a flat list of services - rewires, sockets, EICRs, EV chargers, testing - with no sense of who each is for. A landlord scanning for compliance testing has to work out whether you serve them, and mostly will not bother. The other problem is that EV charger installation, which is now a genuinely searched and well-paid job, tends to be one bullet point rather than a page that could rank for it.

What it has to do

The jobs a electrician website is built for.

  1. Phone call for domestic faults

Fault-finding is urgent and won on availability.

  2. Emailed enquiry for EICR and landlord testing

Compliance work is planned, repeatable and the steadiest revenue an electrician has.

  3. Quote request for EV charger installation

High-value, growing, and heavily searched - it deserves its own page.

The pages we build for you

Home
Split the two audiences immediately rather than blending them.
Domestic electrical work
Faults, sockets, lighting, consumer units.
Landlord safety certificates (EICR)
Compliance-led page written for agents and landlords.
EV charger installation
Its own page, because it is its own search.
Commercial and contract work
Signals you can handle scale.
Areas covered
Local relevance and fewer wasted calls.
Contact
Phone for urgent, form for scheduled.

What moves the needle

NICEIC, NAPIT or equivalent registration displayed prominently
Both audiences check for it, and landlords require it.
Separate routes for domestic and commercial from the homepage
Two audiences with different intents should not share one funnel.
EICR page written in landlord language, not electrician language
The buyer is a letting agent, not a tradesperson.
Tap-to-call for fault work
Domestic faults are phone conversions.
Certificate and compliance explainer
Answering "what do I legally need" pulls in the compliance searches.

Trust signals we put on every page: NICEIC or NAPIT registration · Part P competence · Insurance · Commercial client sectors served

Concept build

What a electrician website could look like.

Voltway is built as one scroll scene, because its customers want four different things and each deserves a full screen. The page opens on a single giant word, POWER, set edge to edge in Hubot Sans, with a Blender cut cable in front of it, its copper strands bared. As you scroll the stage pins and the word changes to SAFE, CERTIFIED and then LIVE, each filling the width, while the object in front becomes a consumer unit, the same board as a yellow inspection wireframe, and finally a lit filament bulb.

Questions

Electricians: what people ask us

Should I list every town I cover?
List the towns you genuinely work in and would happily travel to. A short honest list produces better enquiries than a long optimistic one, and it stops you spending your day quoting for jobs ninety minutes away that you were never going to take.
What if I do not have photographs of my work?
Start taking them now, on your phone, before and after every job. Photographs of your own finished work convert better than any stock image or any amount of copy, and in the trades they are the single biggest factor in the size of job you get asked to quote for. We will lay out the site to work with whatever you have and improve as you build up a library.
How do I serve domestic and commercial customers on one site?
Split them at the homepage rather than blending them. A householder with a tripping consumer unit and a letting agent booking safety certificates want different words, different urgency and different ways of getting in touch. One page trying to address both usually addresses neither.
