Websites for joiners & carpenters

Websites for joiners & carpenters that win the work.

Websites for joiners and carpenters, built to show craft - because this is a trade where the work itself is the argument. From £99 a month, live in 3 working days.

Your customers

How people actually choose a joiner.

A customer commissioning fitted wardrobes, a staircase or a kitchen is buying craftsmanship, and they know it when they see it. They browse slowly, often on a tablet in the evening, and they are looking for a particular quality of finish rather than a particular price. They will happily wait months for the right joiner. The second stream of work - doors, skirting, general second fix - comes through builders rather than the public, which means part of your website is quietly aimed at other trades who want to know you turn up and finish.

The problem

What most joiners & carpenters websites get wrong.

Joinery websites underplay the work badly. A fitted alcove unit that took a week is shown as a 400-pixel thumbnail. This is the trade where photography quality has the most direct effect on the size of job you get asked to quote for, and most sites treat images as decoration. The second failure is not distinguishing bespoke commissions from general carpentry, so a customer wanting a handmade staircase cannot tell whether that is what you do.

What it has to do

The jobs a joiner website is built for.

  1. Bespoke commission enquiry

The highest-value, highest-margin work and the reason to have a website at all.

  2. Trade enquiries from builders

Steady second-fix work that fills the gaps between commissions.

  3. Demonstrate finish quality

This customer buys with their eyes and will pay more for evident craft.

Concept build

What a joiner website could look like.

People planning a £60,000 extension want proof of finished work and a builder who keeps to the programme, so the page is built like an architecture magazine cover. There is no hero banner: the headline 'Finished when we said' is set enormous in light Source Serif 4 across the whole page, and a portrait photograph of a dusk extension stands in the middle of it, with the words turning from ink to paper exactly where they cross the picture. On load the photo opens from a thin slit while the lines rise out of their masks.

Questions

Joiners & Carpenters: what people ask us

How important is photography, really?
In visual trades it is the entire decision. Customers shortlist from photographs and read the words afterwards, if at all. It is worth paying a photographer for half a day once a year - it will change the size of the jobs you are asked to quote for more than anything else you could spend the money on.
What if I do not have photographs of my work?
Start taking them now, on your phone, before and after every job. Photographs of your own finished work convert better than any stock image or any amount of copy, and in the trades they are the single biggest factor in the size of job you get asked to quote for. We will lay out the site to work with whatever you have and improve as you build up a library.
Should I list every town I cover?
List the towns you genuinely work in and would happily travel to. A short honest list produces better enquiries than a long optimistic one, and it stops you spending your day quoting for jobs ninety minutes away that you were never going to take.
