A new driveway is a large, visible, one-off purchase, and customers arrive wary. Many have had leaflets or a knock at the door offering leftover tarmac, and they know the stories. So they check hard: does this firm have an address, a landline, a history, reviews that look real. They also do not know what they want. Block paving, resin-bound, tarmac, gravel and imprinted concrete all look fine in a brochure and have very different prices, lifespans and maintenance. The customer shortlists by looking at finished drives that resemble their house, then books two or three survey visits, often in late winter to get the work done by summer.
When demand peaks. Survey requests build from January to spring for summer installation. Resin and block work depends on dry weather, which compresses the working season into spring to early autumn.
