Websites for hairdressers

Websites for hairdressers that win the work.

Websites for hair salons where the stylist matters as much as the salon, and colour work needs photography that does it justice. From £99 a month, live in 3 working days.

Your customers

How people actually choose a hair salon.

Changing hairdresser is a genuinely anxious decision, particularly for colour, and customers research carefully before committing. They look for a stylist whose work matches what they want, which means they are assessing individuals rather than the business. They want to know about consultations and patch tests before they book colour, and they want an indication of price - colour pricing is famously opaque and that opacity puts people off booking. Once settled, a salon customer returns every six to twelve weeks for years.

When demand peaks. Christmas and wedding season drive the sharpest peaks. January is consistently the quietest month.

The problem

What most hairdressers websites get wrong.

Salon websites show one flattering photograph per stylist and no work. Customers are choosing a person, so the site needs each stylist with their own portfolio and their own booking link. The second problem is colour pricing - sites say "from £65" without explaining what drives the range, which makes people assume the worst. The third is photography taken under salon lighting, which flattens exactly the tonal work the customer is paying for.

What it has to do

The jobs a hair salon website is built for.

  1. Booking with a specific stylist

Customers choose a person, not a salon, and matching them correctly reduces cancellations.

  2. Colour consultation booking

The highest-value service and the one people are most nervous about.

  3. Reduce price anxiety before arrival

Unexplained price ranges stop bookings outright.

What moves the needle

Individual stylist pages with their own work and booking link
The customer is choosing a person; the site should let them.
Colour photography shot in natural light
Salon lighting destroys the tonal detail the work is sold on.
Price ranges with what determines them explained
"From £65" without context reads as a trap and prevents bookings.
Patch test and consultation requirements stated clearly
A legal and practical requirement that customers must know before booking.
Online booking by service and stylist
Salons lose bookings to the phone being engaged during appointments.

Trust signals we put on every page: Stylist portfolios · Colour qualifications · Product brands used · Consultation policy

Concept build

What a hair salon website could look like.

Colour clients choose a salon the way they read a fashion magazine, so the page opens like a cover. The hero is a rose-clay ground with a giant italic Lumen wordmark set in Libre Bodoni running edge to edge behind a cut-out model with a glossy dark bob, and a handwritten "colour & cut" in Mrs Saint Delafield crossing in front of her. As you scroll the three layers move at different speeds, so the wordmark sinks, the model rises and the script slides away: real depth from flat photography.

Questions

Hairdressers: what people ask us

Can you add online booking?
Yes. Every plan includes a booking-request form, live-availability booking can be added to any plan (quoted on your call) and comes as standard on Pro, and we can connect whichever booking system suits your business rather than forcing you onto ours. For appointment businesses it is usually the highest-return feature on the site, because the phone going unanswered while you are working is a constant source of lost bookings.
Should I put my prices on my website?
Almost always yes. Hiding prices loses more enquiries than it protects, because people assume the worst and go to a competitor who publishes theirs. If your pricing genuinely varies, publish a range and explain in one sentence what moves it - that converts far better than "contact us for a quote".
Should individual staff have their own pages?
If customers choose a person rather than a business, yes. In salons, dental practices and professional firms people are picking an individual, and giving each one a page with their own work, qualifications and booking link converts noticeably better than a single team photograph.
